What’s it about?
This work of historical fiction follows Kateryn Parr, the last wife of Henry the VIII, as she navigates a very dangerous court.
What did it make me think about?
How absolute power, corrupts absolutely!
Should I read it?
Philippa Gregory’s novels are pretty formulaic, but also highly entertaining and informative. I always enjoy picking up one of her books when I am in the mood for a quick read.
Quote-
“This is a man so sharp with pride that he cannot hear contradiction. This is a man who will play both sides at once to make sure that he wins. This is a man who from a boy has never been refused. And, in addition to all of those- here is a man who cannot see himself as anything but perfect. He has to be the very best.”
