What’s it about?
This is a fun little romp through the art world with a cast of over the top characters.  Annie McDee is 31 years old and nursing a broken heart.  On impulse she walks into a junk shop and buys a small painting that will change her life.  As she tries to discover more about the painting she begins to discover the inconsistencies of the art world.   We hear from lots of different characters, including the painting itself.

What did it make me think about?
This was just a fun read.  I wonder- is art really the new currency for the uber rich?

Should I read it?
I enjoyed this book, but it took me awhile to get into it.

Quote-
“I have noticed that the moment people become rich and achieve their earthly desires they enter a painful, spiritual vacuum.  Few wealthy people turn to religion.  What’s the point when it’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get to heaven?  Instead they often look to the soothing power of beauty.  Art makes mortals feel closer to heaven. “
